Welcome

We are the Ombudsman Service for Chartered Surveying Firms and their customers. This website will tell you what we do and how to use our Service.
 


 We provide a free and independent service. Our job is to investigate complaints fairly by listening to both sides of the story and looking at the facts.

We deal with complaints made against Chartered Surveying Firms which have joined the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and become a member of the Surveyors Ombudsman Service. We can only look at your problem if one of our members is involved, so it is very important that you check this first.

The Chartered Surveying Firm you are complaining about will provide you with a copy of its complaints handling procedure (CHP). The CHP will outline if the firm is a member of the Surveyors Ombudsman Service. If the firm refuses to provide you with a copy of its CHP, then you should contact the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
