Members
We deal with complaints made against Chartered Surveyors which are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and which have joined the Surveyors Ombudsman Service.
Some firms which are not members of RICS have also chosen to become a member of the Surveyors Ombudsman Service.
We can only look at your problem if one of our members is involved, so it is very important that you check this first.
The Chartered Surveying Firm you are complaining about will provide you with a copy of its complaints handling procedure (CHP). The CHP will outline if the firm is a member of the Surveyors Ombudsman Service. If the firm refuses to provide you with a copy of its CHP, then you should contact the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
